Perfect birthday present

I was planning to read “how to choose art papers” series of articles (Part 1, 2, 3 and 4), this blog post and maybe search out few more before going to the art shop and staring, overwhelmed and confused, at the sheets of the watercolour paper available. What do I know about watercolour paper?! Probably much more than I did even a year ago, but that doesn’t seem to stop me from feeling totally inadequate in the art shops. Who am I to even think of touching the glorious, pure, solid, immense sheets of paper? The winged furies will descend, question my “artistic” credentials and throw me out upon finding them wanting. 🙂

But look what my wonderful husband got me for my birthday!

Sheets of the various watercolour paper, saving me from the dreaded shopping experience, but more importantly giving me a chance to try out different papers to find out what works for me.

Annie, it make me awhile to get around to painting something worth showing. I may just experiment with how the paper takes watercolour at first.
